1st meeting of the season!!

*** Come One Come All ***

Don't miss CCC's first meeting of the 2010 / 2011 season. We will have our normal review of Septembers “Open” digital competitions and award ribbons. As well as a short slide show by Tom Malinski of images taken by CCC members summer photography outings. This includes the Newport RI overnight workshop, Magic Wings this past March, Elizabeth Park, Mystic Seaport, and Scott Kelby Photowalk.

Please email any images you would like displayed at Septembers meeting to Tom no later than Friday Sept 10th. Please make sure your name and where the image was taken is part of the image filename

Picasa

A presentation by Eric Larson

Eric will be presenting "Picasa" by Google. Picasa is free image editing software that has some very nice features and functions definitely worth taking a look at.

I will also ask members at the meeting for any recommendations as to technical workshops they would like to see for this season. I'm sure there are members that could benefit from help in certain technical areas, this could be help with anything from how to clean your digital camera sensor to using flash effectively for fill or main light outdoors, or maybe just an open forum discussion on issues or tips and techniques that everyone can benefit by. Please be sure to attend, it’s sure to be informative and a good kick off for the 2010 / 2011 season

"Macro"

A Workshop

by

Tom Malinski

Tom will have an open discussion about various types of Macro Photography. This will include a live demonstration utilizing a variety of methods, lenses, and field techniques ranging from simple closeup Macro with common inexpensive equipment, all the way to extreme Macro with high end lenses and flash @ 1x to 5x and greater magnification.  Part of Toms demonstration will be how to setup a still life Super Macro shot of a Flower refraction in a tiny drop of water. Sure to stimulate your creative side.

"Members Mini's Slide Shows”
This was a huge hit last season

Members are encouraged to put together a simple slide show of their favorite images to share with others. Slide shows should be a max of 10 min.

Digital Slide Shows should be saved to a CD or USB Dirve. The Slide show must be able to run on it's own, not requiring any special software to be installed on our Club's PC. Most programs that produce slide shows will have that option when saving the show to disk. "Pro-Show" users can save as an "executable" and simply copy the file and bring to the meeting.

For those of you that do not have slide show software, no problem! just bring a CD full of your jpeg images, and I can run them as a slide show using our viewing software. You can figure approx 10 images per minute of show.

I will have my PC and sound system at the meeting for shows that have music.

Call me if you have any questions on producing or saving your show.
